By Maureen Underwood and John Kalafat. Presented in easy-to-follow lessons, this research-based suicide prevention curriculum provides resources to help the school community readily identify potentially suicidal adolescents and learn how to initially respond to them. Included is a CD-ROM with reproducible handouts and two DVDs: one contains a Teen's Guide to Suicide Prevention, a program showing teens how to recognize the warning signs of suicide, and One Life Saved, which documents the true story of a suicide intervention; the other contains Not My Kid: What Every Parent Should Know, which answers frequently asked questions about teen suicide. Grades 9–12. Bibliography. 8½" x 11". Hazelden. ©2009.
